Okay - time for the voting rules!
1) voting is open September 5th thru September 13th
2) you can only vote once
we have security measures on the voting polls so that there will be no ballot stuffing
cookies - once you have voted a cookie will be stored on your computer, the software looks for this cookie and if its there prevents you from voting again
this means if you and another family member want to vote, you have to do it from different computers entirely
IP blocking - once you have voted your IP address is logged, the software will scan your IP and prevent you from voting again
this means if you're on a network or behind a firewall you may be sharing an IP address (even if you're just on a home network)...SO, if you want coworkers to vote make sure to tell them to do it from HOME, not the office; if you want family members to vote, one votes @ home and one votes @ the office/school/etc.
4) sugarcats are identified by #s only so that everybody's on a level playing field.. if you want to tell your friends to vote for your cat you can say..."cutie pie is cat #250"
5) gonna give the security measures speech one more time 'cuz its important
the voting software uses cookies stored on your computer to make sure no one votes more than once from the same computer
the voting software uses IP logs to make sure that no more than 1 vote is cast from each IP address
this means you should make sure to copy and paste these rules into the email you'll be sending out to "cutie pie's" close friends so there's no confusion about how to vote
there will be no manual reset of IP addresses - for any reason
this means if you vote wrong or don't pick 11 cats or your sugarcat votes before you can, or any other scenario where you'd need to vote again...we're sorry but there's nothing we can do about it... unfortunately a handful of troublemakers ruined things for a handful of innocent sugarcats last year and we can't let it happen again
6) are you sick of these rules? hell yeah! then lets get to those gorgeous pics and get voting!
Any questions, drop a line to the committee at committee@gorbzilla.com!
