Help Oprah Help IMOM!

So, Gorb's pals Nora and Cyndi came up with a great idea that could not only honor Jacki Hadra, the tireless founder of IMOM.org, but that would also ultimately raise awareness and funds for IMOM.org.  Gorb being the clever cat he is as well as a big fan of Jacki's wanted to help.  So here we all are!

Cindy and Nora would like your help in nominating Jacki for Oprah's Angel Network Choose Your Life Award.  Are you up to it?  There's more info below on Jacki and IMOM.org as well as on Oprah's Angel Network.

If you can take just a few moments out of your day to help nominate Jacki for this much-deserved award, Gorb and his pals and all the animals that IMOM helps every day will be eternally grateful.

Here's more info on Oprah's Angel Network and the Choose Your Life award from Oprah's website:

Oprah Winfrey announced Oprah's Angel Network on September 18, 1997, to inspire people to use their lives and to reap the truest rewards that come from giving to others. "I want you to open your hearts and see the world in a different way," said Oprah. "I promise this will change your life for the better."

Oprah's Angel Network established the "Use Your Life Award" in April 2000, and since then has awarded it to individuals who through their charitable organizations are making a difference in the lives of others.

Funded by donations from actor Paul Newman, founder of "Newman's Own"; Jeff Bezos, founder of Amazon.com; and from donations by The Oprah Winfrey Show viewers, the "Use Your Life Award" helps recipients to expand their programs and to continue helping those in need.

To date, 50 "Use Your Life Awards" have been presented—totaling 4.35 million dollars!

Here's some background info on Jacki and IMOM.org:

Jacki founded IMOM as a tribute to her cat Magic (IMOM stands for In Memory of Magic).  IMOM's mission is simple "helping people help pets".  For more info on Jacki's tribute to Magic visit this link.

IMOM works to better the lives of sick, injured and abused companion animals. They are dedicated to insuring that no companion animal has to be euthanized simply because their caretaker is financially challenged.

Most of us know at least one IMOM pet and have tried to help IMOM raise funds by donating time or money or in some other way helping to further their cause.  By helping us out with a nomination for Jacki you'll help create considerable awareness of IMOM.org and the great work that it does...just think of all the eyes at Oxygen Media that will see all of these nominations.  Maybe Jacki won't win the award, but we've no doubt that IMOM will benefit in the long run!

So are you on board?  Ready to help Oprah help IMOM?  Yeah!

I’d like to nominate Jacki Hadra, founder of “In Memory Of Magic” for a Use Your Life Award. Jacki founded this organization in 1998, after the death of her beloved cat, Magic. Jacki was lucky enough to be able to afford Magic’s veterinary care, but was shocked to learn that many people who couldn’t afford care had to put their beloved pets to sleep, even though they may have been suffering from something totally treatable.  Jacki decided that, in honor of the loving gifts Magic had shared with her, she would do all she could to help other animals live on, and “IMOM” was born.

IMOM is a completely volunteer-driven organization, fully dependent only on donations from loving pet owners who want to help others keep their pets with them as long as possible. Their mission is “Helping people help Pets.”

Since 1998, IMOM has paid out more than $220,000 to veterinarians for non-routine (often emergency) vet care. Hundreds of pets from across the country have gone on to live full lives with their families – most of whom become fundraisers and donors to IMOM themselves, once they can afford to give back to the organization that helped them.

You can learn more about IMOM and Jacki at www.imom.org, or by emailing Jacki at jacki@imom.org, calling 301-599-PETS or by mail at

IMOM, Inc.
PO Box 282
Cheltenham, MD 20623

I hope you’ll consider Jacki and IMOM for a Use Your Life Award, because she is truly using her life to make the world a better place.

Thank you,
