Here's some info from Janie @ Fancy Cats who has been fostering Tiggy. She is an easy going kitty and very affectionate. She loves to sleep on the bed with us! She is a little wary of other kitties and will get along with other cats if they are laid back as well. She gets along with two of our cats, one male and one female, so it doesn't matter which sex the other cats are, as long as they are not combative.
She does like to stick to one room, probably because the other cats don't get along with her. She loves water and therefore stays primarily in our master bathroom. She loves to drink water out of the sink or tub and will even jump in the shower with us if we don't close her out. One drawback she has is that she will sometimes go to the bathroom in the tub (#1 and #2). She only does this when the other cats invade her space; otherwise she goes in the litter box.She also loves to be brushed and she loves bubbles!
Her medication requirements are 6 units of UL-100 insulin 2x daily. She had her blood glucose checked last April and was doing fine. I also check it periodically is it is usually around 250. She also had surgery for necrotic (dead) tissue in her flank at that time but is otherwise healthy. She is a big kitty at 18 pounds but has lost a little weight now that she is on a special diet.
Tiggy is 9 years old, insulin dependent, and generally in good health. Tiggy's current foster mom thinks she would do really well in a quiet household (other cats are okay as long as they're mellow). She's currently in the Washington DC area but is healthy and strong and up to a transport if his new home is outside the area.
If you think you can give Tiggy a new home, please contact Cynthia and Cali to discuss...and thanks for taking the time to read about this special lady and try to help!
